I should be posting pictures about going up north for Memorial Day weekend but we had a change in plans. Josh was extremely sick on Thursday night so we decided to go to urgent care to see what was up in case we were far from home for the weekend. Good thing we went because he had a throat infection and his whole body ached. They treated him for strep throat even though the initial result came back negative. The doctor told him to not push it on Friday so he rested and we were hoping that we could go up north Saturday morning yet. That didn't happen, however. Friday he was dead to the world and Saturday wasn't much better. We ended up going back to urgent care on Sunday. The doctor gave him some more medicine and Monday he actually started to feel better. I really missed being up north with my family but it was out of our hands. Maybe this was God's way of preparing us for baby since if he gets sick too we'll have to change our plans. I was able to practice taking care of my patient.
One thing that was productive about the weekend was that we went and picked up baby's furniture that came in. We have a crib and a dresser so the nursery is feeling more like a nursery. I have been in a nesting mode I think. I wish that I could have all of the items that are needed for the nursery and start putting it together. I have hung up his clothes and cleaned the room.
As far as how I'm doing, I'm still doing well. I still have quite a bit of energy. Carter and I have been taking our daily walks now that I'm done with school. Besides the slight swelling of feet and hands, I'm feeling pretty good. I do have restless, almost anxiety sort of moments, though where I can't sit still. I feel much better if I get up and do something. This is good for some house cleaning and organization but I'm not sure if this is normal.
I hope that everyone had a wonderful memorial weekend and I'll update again on Friday after the doctor appointment.
