The Move

The week of August 25th was busy to say the least.  August 24th was Eli's 1st birthday party and Sunday we drove back to Iowa.  Monday I had a going away dinner with some teachers from school.  Tuesday Eli had his one year photos.  Wednesday he had his one year check up.  Also keep in mind that Tuesday the movers came and started packing up the big semi-truck; they were there Tuesday and Wednesday.  Wednesday night we had a going away dinner with our friends from Briarwood.  Thursday morning we woke up and headed back to Wisconsin.  Friday, August 30th the movers started unloading our belongings.

Friday also marked the day when Eli started officially walking.  He has been taking steps for about a month now but Friday he figured out how to stand up from being on the ground while we were in the hotel.  I don't know if he was just so excited to have all of this space or what but he hasn't look back since.

In a future post I will try and show the before and after pictures of our sun room and kitchen that we have changed since we moved in.  The house was in great condition but needed to be updated a bit and brought into this decade so some paint was definitely needed :)

It still is a bit weird to think that we are back here in Wisconsin.  We've been here about a month and a half but it feels like a long visit.  It definitely was a bittersweet day when we left.  Iowa was extremely good to us, it is where we bought our first home, Eli was born, and I had my first teaching job.  We met some great people.  Having Eli closer to his grandparents, aunts, and uncles makes the transition worth it however.
