5 Months

Eli,

Five months already.  At first we wanted you to grow so that you would interact with us and now it seems like you are growing too fast.  You huge smiles light up our days.  We are always smiling or laughing at the new sounds that you are making.  You definitely have found your voice.  This past month was a great one as we spent our first Christmas together and rang in the new year.  Although neither one of us made it to midnight :)

Here are some monthly accomplishments:

YOU....

• Are about 17.5 lbs
• Have switched daycares...only a 1 minute car ride now :) 
• Love to be in your jumper. Both feet touch the ground and you really get going
• Roll over from belly to back
• Are quite vocal...talking to your toys and squawk
• Had a great first Christmas...you were definitely spoiled
• Eat oatmeal cereal.  You didn’t like it at first and now that we make it thicker you are getting pretty good at it
• Take baths in the big bathtub
• Get excited when you see the red screen of the Fisher-Price app Momma got for you on her phone
• Recognize your name
• Are starting to go for Carter’s face and smile when he gives you kisses
• Have skyped with Auntie Vitty a couple of times.  You stare and smile at the computer screen when you see her.
• Can definitely see farther away as you track momma and daddy throughout the house
• Still drool a ton...a bib is part of your daily outfit :)

Last year on Jan. 16th we had our first appointment.  It was the first time we got to see a picture of you.  I can't believe it has been a year since the thought of you became real for us and we started to prepare for your arrival.  Now that you're here, it's hard to remember a time without you in our lives.
