Weekend Wrap Up

Wow, what a week it has been.  We have been thinking for the past couple of month about moving or building.  We love our home and its location but it just isn't quite big enough.  Once you put some of Eli's toys in the living room there isn't much of a room left.  So last month we bought a piece of land and have been working with a draftsman for our house plan.  We put the bids into 3 builders and were waiting to hear back.  We don't want to build and still have a mortgage.  Last Saturday our realtor came and put the for sale sign in the front yard.  Things took off from there.

Tuesday and Wednesday we had showings.  The MLS listing didn't hit the website until Monday afternoon keep in mind.  Friday we had a showing at 6 pm.  Saturday we had a showing at 1030 am and 4 pm.  So needless to say our house has been very clean.

Friday night we received an offer on the house from the 6 pm showing.  Not being pleased with it we countered.  They countered again and then wanted to see the house at 3pm on Saturday.  After one more counter we had a deal.  I think we are still in shock.  Our house is sold!  Now time for apartment living for the next 4-5 months.

Keep in mind also that this is all occurring while our friends from Illinois came to visit.  I want to say a huge thank you to Chris and Ashlee for their help and understanding through this process.  We wouldn't have wanted anyone else to visit during this time as you just went through it not that along.  I still feel horrible that we had to up and leave so many times.  Definitely come visit again when the new house is done and we can just sit back and relax.  It was quite the show to load up 2 babies, 2 carseats, 2 high chairs, 2 diaper bags, 2 dogs, and 4 people.

This post could really be broken up into about 4 so much happened.  It was a great weekend and we are truly blessed to have this all happen to us.  Josh had a great week of sales, we had great friends visit, Josh turned 31 (yeah, we're getting old), Josh and Chris got to golf, Ashlee and I worked out (even though she's never coming to visit again because of it :)), I completed week one of Farrell's, we ate great BBQ, our kids had their first Easter egg "hunt", and we sold the house.  All praise to God!
